Watch out for

Scale insects: Isolate the plant and treat with a systemic insecticide or horticultural oil.

Root rot: Ensure well-draining compost and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

Mealybugs: Wipe off with a damp cloth dipped in methylated spirits or apply insecticidal soap.

Vine weevil: Use nematodes in the soil during warm months or apply a systemic granular treatment.

Sunburn: Acclimate plants gradually to brighter conditions and provide filtered light initially.
