Bud blast: Site plants in sheltered locations away from cold drafts to protect developing buds.

Powdery mildew: Improve air circulation around the plant and apply a suitable fungicide if severe.

Slugs and snails: Use slug pellets, beer traps, or hand-pick pests at night to protect new growth.

Vine weevil: Apply systemic insecticide granules to the soil in autumn to control larvae.

Leaf spot: Remove affected foliage and avoid wetting leaves when watering to reduce humidity.
