I'm Kevin, and GardenWizz is my project — an independent UK gardening encyclopedia, built and run on my own. It started because I wanted one place that pulled together plant facts, regional timing and problem-solving for real British conditions — not advice adapted from American climates that has nothing to do with a wet UK spring.

I'm a keen gardener and a bit of a tinkerer, and GardenWizz is my attempt to build the resource I wished existed. I'm not a professional horticulturist or an RHS-trained expert. I'm an enthusiast who got slightly obsessed — so everything here is written to be genuinely useful, checked against good sources, and honest about what it is.

What makes GardenWizz different

• UK-specific, year-round. Every guide is written for British conditions — not adapted from American or southern-hemisphere sources.
• Structured tools, not just articles. The Plant Finder, Hardiness checker, Soil Types guide and Companion Planting tables are queryable, not just text.
• Honest data sourcing. Hardiness ratings, native ranges and toxicity are cited to RHS, Wikipedia or other primary sources. Missing data is shown as a dash — never guessed.
• Up to date. New plant encyclopedia entries and growing guides are added as the season progresses.
• One person, full time. Built and maintained by Kevin, a UK gardener. Not a content-mill, not AI-generated — written and curated by a real person.

GardenWizz is a personal reference — not a substitute for local expertise. If you spot something wrong, or know a regional variation I've missed, please email me.
